Interventional Radiology (IR)

Interventional radiology (IR) is a medical subspecialty of radiology that performs minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat disease using radiologic imaging for procedure guidance. These minimally invasive procedures are done under Mammography or, Ultrasound guidance; and they have become the primary method of care for a variety of conditions.

You can take comfort in knowing that your procedure is always done by a physician. Interventional radiology procedures are always done by MD Imaging’s Medical Director, Dr. Gray Grossman, who is both board-certified and fellowship-trained in Interventional Radiology.

The following are minimally invasive procedures offered at MD Imaging:

  • Breast Biopsy- Mammography or Ultrasound guidance

  • Biopsy Thyroid
