MD Imaging provides patients with the most comprehensive
medical diagnostic imaging services in Dutchess County.

MD Imaging has been designated by Philips Medical Systems, the makers of advanced imaging equipment, as their East Coast regional showcase. Our facility is the first in Dutchess County to have a fixed PET scanner and the first to offer all of the available imaging modalities, including digital mammography, in one central location. MD Imaging is committed to providing the community with the highest level of imaging technology available. Our imaging services include:

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) - generates high-resolution images of the body from a variety of angles by using a magnetic field and radio waves. MRI can generate information about the brain, spine, joints and internal organs that may not be easily obtainable from other tests.

PET (Positron Emission Tomography) - uses an injected tracer that emits signals which are converted into images of how the cells of the body function. It is most often used to detect tumors, brain disorders and heart disease. It is the most sensitive modality for the detection and evaluation of malignant tumors.

CT Scan (Computed Tomography) - combines a digital computer with x-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images of different parts of the body, such as the lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas, pelvis, extremities, brain, spine, and blood vessels.

Nuclear Medicine - uses a radioactive tracer to visualize the function of the bones and internal organs, such as the heart, lungs, thyroid, gallbladder and liver.

Computed Radiography (digital x-ray, including fluoroscopy) - a technique that captures an image on a filmless cassette and then electronically stores it for analysis.

Digital Mammography - a highly sensitive diagnostic tool that assists in the very early detection of breast cancer. The digital image is then coupled to a computer-aided detection device (i.e., R2 Image Checker), which increases the diagnostic accuracy of your mammogram .

Ultrasound - utilizes sound waves that produce images of the internal structures of the body. It is used to examine breast tissue, view abdominal and pelvic structures, evaluate blood flow and cardiac function, determine a due date for pregnancy and look at fetal growth.

Bone Densitometry - measures bone density by quantifying bone calcium content. Used for early detection of osteoporosis.

Echocardiography - utilizes an ultrasound of the heart to show anatomic detail and measure function.
